The Relight Project was launched to use the opportunity of re-lighting the public artwork “Counter Void” on Keyakizaka Street in Roppongi as a catalyst for re-engaging the public in remembering 3.11. Since the artwork was intentionally shut down by artist Tatsuo MIYAJIMA in 2011 following the disaster, we intend to turn the artwork into a device to pose questions about the existence and meaning of art in society.
